The Murrumbidgee Turf Club (MTC) is thrilled to welcome back the Evergreen Turf Country Championships Race Day on Saturday, 28th February 2026.

Join the MTC for the ultimate Country Showdown featuring the SDRA Country Championships Qualifier, where the winner gains exemption into the $1 million Country Championships Final at Royal Randwick in early April.

The excitement continues off the track with a Western-themed race day, including line dancing, party after the last with Country Rock band Ballz n All, TAB Activation, mini pony rides for the kids and much more!

Ataxia- Telangiectasia (A-T) disease is a rare and often incurable disease with 50 diagnosed patients in Australia. In October 2016 Wagga Wagga couple Jeff and Carly Millar received the devastating news that their two-year-old son, Charlie, had been diagnosed with Ataxia-telangiectasia (A-T). Just seven months later, while still grappling with Charlie’s diagnosis, they were shattered to learn that their younger daughter, Zara, also had A-T.

In 2024, Jeff and Carly tragically lost Charlie at the age of 10 to lung disease, after his courageous battle with liver cancer, all stemming from this rare condition.

While Jeff, Carly and Zara continue to endure the unimaginable pain of losing Charlie, they have found strength and purpose in advocating for a better future for other families facing the same diagnosis. The BrAshA-T Foundation is a charity created to raise money to support research into finding a cure and as a means for creating a support network for families dealing with A-T.

The Murrumbidgee Turf Club are honoured to be donating a portion of ticket sales to BrAshA-T Foundation, and a charity auction will take place on the day in the marquee with all the funds from the auction going directly to the foundation.

ENTRY & EXIT

• Entry and Exit is available from both Travers Street and Slocum Street
• Both gates will be open from 12.00pm and will close at 4.00pm, no pass outs are allowed from the racecourse past 4.00pm

BUSES

• Complimentary Buses will be departing Slocum Street from 6.00pm until 7.30pm taking racegoers downtown

TICKETS

• Pre – purchasing tickets is strongly recommended to skip queues on the day and avoid tickets selling out
• QR Codes available on the gate for purchase
• Wild West Bundaberg Rum Precinct tickets are available at the entry of the precinct however are limited

BARS

• Bars in Marquee areas will terminate at 5.45pm
• The Trainers Bar & Trackside Bar will remain open on course for General Admission ticket holders and will terminate at 7.15pm
